Learning Experiences
Learning Experiences empower participants with the tools and confidence to know how communication works in different contexts helping them make language choices to achieve their goals. Learning Experiences are informed by language research based on real- life communication.
Each Language Experience program includes examples inspired by real interactions along with practicing proven strategies to navigate each situation. Participants leave each encounter with tools for use in new situations and with increased confidence to contribute in their communities. Learning experiences equip participants with a set of tools to help them identify strategies they can use when outside of the learning experience.
In each Learning Experience, participants will:
Explore different communication strategies to use in different situations (e.g., at work)
Explore the cultural norms at play in each situation (e.g., comparing between cultures)
Practice the performance of speech acts (e.g., role play, identifying proper usage in small groups)
Feel more confident when communicating in different contexts.
